10 proven ways to boost your career mojo

The world we live in is no longer what it was. Everything is up for a rethink, including where we work, and of course where and how we learn.

Several of my current clients have asked me to redesign their classroom based learning programmes so they can be delivered remotely. In most cases this is entirely feasible. You’d be surprised what learning can be achieved in a 2 hour fast paced and highly interactive session.

In recent years my virtual sessions have included a 6 module leadership programme, a session on conflict resolution and a sales pitching programme.

Mid-career employees are being squeezed like never before, and far too many of them are not in a happy place.

In my book “My Job Isn’t Working!“, I reveal for the first time how bad things really are, and set out the Top 10 techniques drawn from 18 years’ hands-on experience of helping those in the ‘Squeezed Middle’ to boost their career mojo.

If you’re a typical mid-career worker in a typical enterprise – been around a while, employs more than a handful of people – the chances are you are being squeezed.  Hard.  You’re under pressure like never before, coming at you from all directions.  It’s getting worse, and the prospects are worse still.  You’ve been asked to do more with less for years, and there is nothing left to give.  You can’t trust people, you feel insecure, and the job seems a bit pointless.  You’ve given up trying to fix the crappy processes you have to work with, because it’s easier to disengage.
Meanwhile the outside world appears to have gone mad, the millennials are coming up fast behind at half your salary and you ought to be worrying about when a robot is going to take your job.  Work-Life balance is an outdated concept, and you no longer know how to switch off.  You find it hard to keep up technically, and worry about how relevant you are.  You may well want out, but can’t work out how to do it, and so you’re stuck.

Your career mojo -the engine which keeps you motoring at work – needs servicing, or worse still has broken down.

The great news is that there is a way through this.
The engine can be repaired.

This book reveals the 10 techniques which have helped thousands of
mid-career workers boost their career mojo.

  • You can find meaning and fulfilment in the work you do, without having to leave.
  • Seemingly small and simple changes will transform your work life.
  • Using real-life stories and examples the book explains in concise and pragmatic terms how to make every day a good day at the office.
The book is the result of 18 years of face to face engagement with thousands of people through my leadership and behavioural skills programmes worldwide, giving me first-hand insight into the frustrations and pressures which are often invisible to senior management.  It is designed for busy and pragmatic workers, focusing more on application than theory.  It’s for people who need help NOW to help themselves.
